The Department of Education aims to make Preschool available to ensure the most disadvantaged children within the local community are able to access a quality early childhood service.
Department of Education preschool services will be supported to provide 600 hours of free preschool. This is approximately 15 hours or 5 days a fortnight in the majority of preschool settings.
Children bring their own morning tea and lunch to Preschool in accordance with the ‘Good for kids’ healthy food guidelines, and also reflects our low waste approach to packaging. Families supply a water bottle for their child each day, as well as a sun safe hat. On enrolment each year, families are asked for a donation of consumable items such as hand soap, paper towel, tissues and dishwashing liquid.

As we come together each day, we remember the traditional owners of this land, the Awabakal people. We pay our respects to Elders, past, present and emerging and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and people here today. We will work together to understand their language, culture and the importance of country to the traditional owners. We acknowledge that the land of Australia always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
